What is energy…?
.....
IS IT what you have coming out of the wall? Is it what you feel from the water, from your body, from the wind? Yes, and more. It is everywhere you look, but beyond that is an incredible thing. Energy is beyond our time. It is beyond all that we can see and feel on an external basis, as it is also an internal feeling, too. Have you ever felt really crap, and felt like the world was against you, only to find that for the entire day that you felt that way, everything really WAS against you? Everyone was acting like jerks, the bus was late, you lost your wallet, the cashier was rude to you, you uploaded a virus on your computer, your kids were being brats…I could go on and on…most of us have had days like that; where we seem to get totally immersed into the entire idea of having a bad day, until we are so immersed in it, we almost crawl into our beds that evening, in tears, because of our bad day…just wanting to sleep it off and say goodbye; in the hope that the next day is better. We awake with hope for a better day, and our hope becomes reality, as NO day could be as bad as the one we just had yesterday, right? So in effect, we convince oursleves that the worst day is over, and move on, expecting a better day…and that is exactly what we have, because we expected it….
Now, why do you think that happened? What made you REALLY think that you could have a better day? How did the day become better? just by thought? By your perception of how the day was going? Are all of the people you met responsible for your ‘better’ day? What do you think?
If you were to think back to your last bad day, what made it so bad? Look back to every interaction you had that day. How did they contribute? Were the people you met to blame? Were they horrible to you? Were they rude? What do you remember about them? Was it their actions? Was it how they made you feel?
Imagine now if you had been having a FABULOUS day. Everything was going just fabulously well. You were SO happy and delighted to be on planet earth. Then you got on the bus and the bus driver was not very polite. How would you have reacted? I know personally, if I am having a great day and someone is rude, I brush it off totally and am even more kind to the person, almost willing my kindness to rub off on them. I feel like I am projecting my happiness around everywhere I go. I exude happiness and feel like I am buzzing. Similar to when you are going to meet a group of very close friends. After several hours of laughing with them, do you think a rude bus driver can ruin your evening? No. No, because you are EXUDING your joy…it is coming out of you. OUT of you…you are giving it out…..
Now return to the previous scenario when you felt shitty (pardon my –I won’t say ‘french’, I will say ‘irishness’, as that is where I learned it from ;-)
You are feeling rotten and not well. You are down and everything seems to be getting in on top of you. ”’IN ON TOP OF YOU” Look at the words here…our language is made in such a way that we train ourselves to feel and react in certain ways, according to what we are telling ourselves. Things are in on top of us. They are coming IN. The negativity of the bus driver is coming IN. The jerk at the sandwich shop is wrecking your head….but how did he get in there in the first place? You LET HIM IN.
When you are happy, you create a barrier that allows you to only receive joy and send out joy…but when you are not joyful, you take down that protection and let everything and anything in…that is why it all gets in ‘on top of you’,’ in your head, ‘ you feel ‘weighed down’ because you are no longer protecting yourself with joy…love and joy are powerful barriers of protection. When you are in love, very little can get to you, as you are so surrounded with love…same with joy…It comes out of you, pushing away anything that may not be of joy.
Now, think of how you FEEL in both scenarios. Which one gives you vibrant energy? Which one slows you down? Imagine a blender…on slow and fast. Which one do you think goes where? Think about it…if energy only comes from electricity, the wall, hydro…how is it that your thoughts and feelings can cause your personal energy to change so dramatically?
